The concept of left and right brain came about in the late 1960s as a result of the research of American psychobiologist Richard Sperry.   Sperry discovered that the human brain has two hemispheres which process information in very different ways.  The right brain tends to be more visual and is "picture oriented".  The left brain tends to be logical and "detail oriented."

Although we all use both hemispheres of our brain, each of us has a natural tendency

to be either "left brain dominant" Left Brain Thinkers or

"right brain dominant" Right Brain Thinkers.
