Happy Friday!
We have a busy week coming up in fifth grade!
Monday(???) we will have our short quiz on the Preamble for those who have not yet completed it.
Your child should be practicing and marking off their efforts on their game board.
Students were given the option to recite it to me today and many did.
Wednesday (???) we have a grammar test on chapter 18 on verb tenses.
We will be reviewing on Monday. (???)
Students will complete the Review Form A in class, we will correct it together, and I will help with any questions.
Students will then have the next two days to study Review Form A and look over their packet.
Thursday(???) will be our social studies test on chapter six.
This test will be given via Canvas as we are going to start utilizing it more this semester.
We started the year with all paper and pencil to get the kids off of their devices a bit, but it is time to start preparing them for middle school.
We will start with some tests/quizzes and move to assignments soon. A study mate for chapter 6 was emailed home yesterday. I have also included it in this letter below.
Looking ahead, we will have discovery nights (virtually) for all current Fairmont families.
As fifth-grade families, you will want to attend the discovery night for middle school on Tuesday, February 8 at 6:15 pm. This is a great opportunity to meet our middle school teachers and hear more about their classes. More information will be sent to you as this date gets closer.
Thank you all for your patience with our hybrid learning, keeping your kids home when they don't feel well, and with our faculty and staff in general. I appreciate the grace and patience that I have personally received. It really does make a difference, so THANK YOU!
